Foley Brothers Ginger Wheat

Foley Brothers Ginger Wheat

The end of the weekend is nigh. I hope you all had a lovely time. Our weekend was highly unproductive, which was satisfying. Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening celebrating our friend Kerry’s birthday and today we spend the day hanging out with my little brother Nick. Besides a little bit of house cleaning, there wasn’t much productivity and I enjoyed being lazy! Tonight the laziness continues as we sit on our ass and watch some playoff football.

I ran out of lives in Candy Crush a few minutes ago and decided to grab a beer while I wait for them to regenerate. The beer is one of the last Christmas gifts from my Moms – Foley Brothers Ginger Wheat. I’ve never tried anything from this brewery, which is in Brandon, Vermont.

The Ginger Wheat is a Pale American Wheat. ABV is not listed on the bottle. In both aroma and flavor, there is an absolute ton of ginger. I would venture to say that this is the most ginger flavor I’ve ever experienced in a beer. It’s intense, but not unpleasantly so (i.e. it’s not like you’re sucking on ginger). That all said, I’m not a fan of ginger, unless it’s the pickled ginger that comes with sushi. I would love to try this beer while eating sushi. Sitting here right now, sans sushi, I’m not a huge fan.

If you’re into ginger, this beer is a must-try for you.
