The last couple of evenings I have been busy. Tuesday night it was church related, and last night was Munchkin related. Munchkin is a card game for nerds like me and my buddies Ron, Sean and Kevin. We’ve been playing for years and own every expansion of the game in existence (literally 3000+ cards). It’s a little out of hand.
While we played last night I broke out my bottle of Norm, the wildly popular chocolate coconut stout from Wormtown brewery. The beer, a 6.8% ABV American stout, is named after my good buddy Norm. Pro tip: Want a beer named after you? Obsessively ask a brewer for two years for a particular beer style. He might just brew it and name it after you!
I offered Norm to Ron and Kevin, but they wanted nothing to do with it. Not their cup of tea. Sean and I, however, savored every last drop. While some other beers come close, the Normr is the pinnacle of coconut beers. It’s all about chocolate and coconut flavors here. Really nothing else. But it needs nothing else. It’s masterfully made and absolutely delicious, although I would recommend you have it as a dessert beer.
