Boston Beer Samuel Adams Escape Route

This weekend I sat for my 3rd sitting, working toward completing my 3/4 sleeve tattoo. Video of the work can be seen above. This time I was under the needle for around 6 hours, bringing the total time on this piece to roughly 18 hours. I did well yesterday, holding out until well past the 5 hour mark before I started losing the mental game. Near the end, while the artist was working on my shoulder, my eyes kept going out of focus due to needle-on-bone related pain. It’s all well worth it though!

Today I’m chilling at home, doing some chores and watching the TV series Lost. Melissa and I started watching it a week or two ago and we are hooked. My fridge is full of super-dark stouts, but I wasn’t in the mood, so I went with this Kolsch, Boston Beer Samuel Adams Escape Route.

The beer is just what the doctor ordered – a light, highly drinkable, summery beer. The name “Escape Route” refers to escaping from winter; you don’t see a lot of breweries brewing wintertime Kolsch. It’s more malty than hoppy, with a grain and lemon flavors taking the main stage. At 5% ABV, I could drink it all day.
