Jack’s Abby Sunny Ridge

Jack's Abby Sunny Ridge

This past weekend I ran another 5k…my second of the year. I shaved a couple of minutes off my race time, getting closer to where I want to perform, which was good. I still have a long way to go, and hope to shave another minute or two off on my next race, which is in a few weeks.

Tonight I’m skating off to Wormtown Brewery’s 4th birthday party, but before I go I figured I’d bang out a beer review. Knowing a drive to Worcester was looming, I went with something very light: Jack’s Abby Sunny Ridge. The beer, a German Pilsener is only 5.1% ABV and goes down like water. The label calls for herbal hop flavors, but I’m getting a more citrusy/lemon character. In the mix you’ll find grainy malts. It’s super light, well balanced and just what the doctor ordered.

It’s worth nothing that in no way does the beer knock my socks off. As far as Jack’s Abby goes, a lot of their that will blow your mind…this isn’t one of them. However, if you just want to chill out and suck down some decent and drinkable beer, Sunny Ridge might be a great choice.
