Narragansett Del’s Shandy

Narragansett Del's Shandy

I can’t believe it’s almost Friday again…and it’s June. This year is FLYING by. Today flew by too. Thursdays are probably my busiest day at work, so naturally the day goes by quickly. After work I went to Chipotle for dinner and then grocery shopping with the wife. Now I’m sitting down to relax. I’m drinking a Narragansett Del’s Shandy.

My pals down at ‘Gansett sent this along to me after they saw some of my recent shandy/radler reviews and saw that I was having troubling finding the Del’s. This isn’t the first time that they have hooked me up, and once again my thanks go out to them.

The Del’s Shandy is different from other Shandy’s I’ve recently tried in a number of ways. First, it comes in a tall boy can. (Woot for tall boys!) Next, it’s 5% ABV, which is uncharacteristically high for this style. Finally, it’s the most lemon-tastic of the shandys I have tried…while at the same time, has the most beer flavor (comparatively).

Given all these things, it almost puts this brew in a category of its own and it’s unfair to compare. For me, the strong lemon flavor is a hair too much for my palette, meaning that I’m happy drinking a single can, but you won’t find me crushing more than that in one sitting.
