Northshire Battenkill Ale

Northshire Battenkill Ale

For the last three weeks I have had Friday off from work for various reasons. This week, I do not. Why do I feel like this week will be, OH so long? Then again, today flew by, so there is hope.

After taking the weekend off from beer, I’m starting the week with a Northshire Battenkill Ale. I’ve actually reviewed this before, but didn’t realize until I’d downed most of the bottle. In short, I’m really glad I got a chance to try it again because today my opinion completely changed!

When a group of us reviewed the brew back in January of 2013, it was a resounding “meh”. Tonight, I absolutely loved the beer. It was simple: malty and loaded with caramel flavors. Incredibly mild, and super drinkable. I think I liked it so much because I’ve been blasting my palette with endless American IPAs.

This beer is a great example of how your opinion can change based on circumstances: how you feel, the time of day, the weather, etc, etc.
