I hope everyone’s week is going well. After the long weekend, it seems that this week is flying by. This past weekend we got our cat Gunnar back. He spent 8 days in the hospital. The last time I talked about him, he was still in pretty rough shape. It is great to have him come home, although it’s going to be a bumpy road. He has to eat special food (that he dislikes), has a regiment of medication that we have to track with a spreadsheet and twice a day we have to give him fluids under the skin. I can tell he is feeling a little bit better every day. This morning, as perhaps a way of saying “hey, I’m feeling normal”, he sat on my chest and “slapped” my face to wake me up; he was hungry.
Over the weekend I co-reviewed some beers with friends Greg and Heather, which now that I think about it seems to be a trend as of late. Over the next few days I plan to recap our thoughts on a handful of beers we tried.
First up is Peak Organic Citrus Saison. I bought this thinking it was more of a citrus pale ale. It turned out that it was a happy accident. I found it super lemony with spices. It kind of felt like a shandy with coriander. Heather said it reminded her of a mohito with lemon instead of mint and beer instead of rum. She also said it “tasted planty”. Finally Greg though it had a unique dry Belgian character.
