Howler Mocha Joe’s Coffee House Porter

Howler Mocha Joe's Coffee House Porter

After two days of work this week, I feel like I’ve been run over by a bus. Both days have been super long and it hasn’t helped that I’ve managed relatively little sleep the last couple of nights. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for my trip to Washington DC this Friday. Silvio has a beery itinerary worked out for us and I’m stoked to spend the weekend with him. I’m also stoked to get this 10 mile run done with, although the weather for this weekend is shaping up to be terrifically bad (cold & rainy). Sunday is still far off, so hopefully the forecast changes.

Before I skirt off to church this evening, I’m downing a bottle of Howler Mocha Joe’s Coffee House Porter. OK, that sounded worse than it was meant to. I’m enjoying a beverage after a long day and in a couple of hours I plan to go to teach at church, completely sober…hand to God.

This porter is HITTING the spot. It’s slammed full of coffee flavors, but it’s not too bitter from the roasted malts. Great balance, full flavored and easy drinking. The coffee notes are accented by the mildest hint of smoke flavor, which normally I would turn my nose up at, but in this case works.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm beer.
