Blatant Pumpkin Ale

Blatant Pumpkin Ale

Last night I was up late watching the Patriots dominate the Colts. The Pat’s season has completely turned around, and most analysts are saying they are Super Bowl favorites. While this was an awesome win, I hate Sunday night games; all day long I was dragging ass due to lack of sleep!

Tonight I’m reviewing my last pumpkin beer of the season: Blatant Pumpkin Ale. Things did not start out great. There was lousy head retention and what head there was, audibly fizzed like a soda. No lacing on the glass whatsoever.

Moving past the appearance, the beer has a robust spicy flavor. Nutmeg dominates! There’s a huge malty backbone to boot. With flavors this intense, someone better really enjoy a pumpkin beer if they are picking this up! I personally think it’s not too shabby, although perhaps slightly too malty for my liking. I still chugged the thing down.
