This post wraps up my co-reviews with friends Ben & Nicole (held over from last week). The final beer in the series, and the last one we drank that evening, is Clown Shoes Reindeer Games. First off, this beer has an amazing label. The folks at Clown Shoes should give their artwork designer a big raise, as the labels for these brews keep getting better and better!
Reindeer Games is labeled as a “Bavarian Style IPA”. I frankly have no idea what this means, even AFTER Googling it! That aside, Ben, Nicole and I liked the beer a lot! We picked up a strong malty backbone that Nicole referred to as caramel and cherry sweetness. Mild earthy hops poke through in the middle and finish of the beer. It’s a well balanced beer, but not your average imperial IPA in that it’s not terribly hoppy. Thumbs up from all three of us!
Finally, I leave you with this…another version of Reindeer Games.
