Anchor Christmas Ale 2014

Anchor Christmas Ale 2014

T-minus 1 day until our trip to Mexico!!! I’m ridiculously excited. This week has been very slow at work, allowing me to check everything off of my to-do list. Nothing to worry about until I get back. It will be insanely busy when I return, but let’s not think about that right now.

Tonight I’m bringing you a review of Anchor Christmas Ale 2014. Looking at the archives, I see that I haven’t had Anchor’s Christmas beer since 2010. The beer is different each year, so it wouldn’t make sense to compare my thoughts from four years ago to today’s.

The beer has a light body and I find it easy to drink, for a winter warmer style beer. It’s super dark in color. For flavors, I get mild “Christmas Tree” spice. Ginger and molasses are prominent also. As far as winter warmers go, I really liked this. Spiciness was clearly present, but not overpowering, and the molasses gave it a cookie-like flavor, without being too sweet.
