Two Roads Unorthodox

Two Roads Unorthodox

Last night I had the privilege of attending a fundraiser at Jack’s Abby. The event was in support of Danielle Ameden, who at 29 years old, is battling breast cancer. The event was organized and hosted by Danielle’s co-workers Nicole and Norm. And yes, I’m talking about THAT Norm. The Norm. The only Norm in my life. Norm did an amazing job selling tickets to the event and it was a huge success. If fundraising involves drinking amazing beer and hanging out with friends, sign me up every time. If you want to donate to Danielle’s cause, you can do so here.

Norm’s contribution was a hairy one: this freakishly robust beard. Images are below. I say “put it back”. Just kidding Normy, you’re hot no matter how much hair you have.

I’m also throwing in a review of Two Roads Unorthodox while I’m at it. The beer is a Russian Imperial Stout, and it’s FAR more robust that even Norm’s [former] beard! Massive amounts of roasted malt assault the palette to the point that I’m having difficulty picking out other flavors. Perhaps there is some dark chocolate notes. Just maybe some caramel, and perhaps some vanilla.

Strangely, it also tastes a hell of a lot like cheese. Oh wait, nevermind, that’s the giant box of cheese squares that I’m eating. Also, worst. Food. Pairing. Ever.
