Switchback Citra-Pils

Switchback Citra-Pils

Long time no blog, eh? The move is now done and we’re settling into the new place. Today the last of our furniture, the mattress, was delivered. All I have to say is: THANK GOD. We have been sleeping on the couch the last few nights, and as comfortable as it is, it’s no bed. Plus, the new bed is a major upgrade over what we used to have, being larger (king) and better quality (memory foam). I’m going to sleep like a baby tonight.

I’m enjoying my first review beer since moving in. Switchback Citra-Pils is a unique beer to kick things off with. First, it’s a relatively rare style, the Keller weisse. Second, it’s brewed with a great variety of hops called Citra (one of my favorites). The brew is super easy drinking and goes down super quick. Just what the doctor ordered. For flavors it’s surprisingly malty, packing a strong biscuity malt-ness. The hops, in my opinion, don’t shine like I expected, but rather come through as a subtle lemony citrus. Yum.
