Bent Hill Blood Orange Imperial IPA

Bent Hill Blood Orange Imperial IPA

It’s been another Saturday hanging out alone while the wife works. I did the same thing as last weekend – errands, chores and video games. I did throw in something new this week: watching 80s movies. Specifically, Robocop and Platoon. It’s a bit strange having all this time to my self. Today I was like “I should do something that I normally wouldn’t with Melissa around”. And no, that doesn’t mean bang a goat. I thought “I’ll go to Mohegan Sun for the day!”, and I almost did. The main reason I didn’t want the distance of the drive. I would have driven 180 minutes round trip in order to gamble for maybe 90 minutes. I also thought, “why don’t I go golfing?”, and then I got lazy. Maybe next weekend…

I’m not completely alone this evening; I have this Bent Hill Blood Orange Imperial IPA to keep me company. The beer is an 8.2% ABV imperial IPA, and it’s pretty damn tasty. There is no doubt that it’s an imperial, as the hop flavors are strong. I get a mix of grapefruit, orange and floral notes. it finishes with a sweet maltiness, giving it great balance. Apparently it has blood orange juice added to it, however I don’t get much in the way of that particular fruit. Still, a delicious brew.
