Otter Creek Over Easy

Otter Creek Over Easy

Beer reviews two days in a row. Look at me go! Today is another lazy day. Woke up early and played some video games. Hung out with the wife for a few hours before she shot off to work. Now I’m counting the minutes to the Patriot’s game kickoff. After the game? More video games. Of course, I should be running, cleaning house, unpacking EVERYTHING from our second bedroom, or a dozen other things. The second bedroom, in particular, is a stupidly huge project. Nothing is in boxes anymore. We gave the boxes away, pouring all the contents on the floor. it looks like an episode of Horders in there…no lie. Other than a nice little path that goes to my closet, there isn’t a square inch of floor space. Just this week, I had to buy a new pair of nail clippers for the cat because the two we own are completely lost in this mess. It’s become a project so large, I don’t know where to start (outside of the thought of hauling it all outside and burning it).

I’m pre-gaming with a bottle of Otter Creek Over Easy. The beer is an American Pale Ale and is 4.6% ABV. The label calls it “highly crushable”. After one sip, I’m not feeling the crushability. HOWEVER, I believe I’ve had this thing in my fridge nearly all summer. So, the blame falls sharply on yours truly. So, please take this review with a serious grain of salt. The beer is definitely light, so points for crushable there. However, I’m not digging the flavor. Tastes like mildly bitter orange rind. The aftertaste of orange increases after swallowing. net-net, I should not have let this sit around so long. Not a fair review. I’ll try it again when I get a chance.
