Von Trapp Vienna Style Lager

Von Trapp Vienna Style Lager

Tonight I did something I haven’t done in over 4 months – went for a run. It wasn’t terribly bad. Yeah, I got major cramps. And yeah, I felt like I was going to vomit about half way through. But otherwise I felt great! I banged out a 5k in a little over 23 minutes. That’s 3 minutes off my best pace, but hell…I’ll take it given the hiatus I was on.

After a rough day of drinking on Sunday while golfing, I was planning on taking a few days off. However, given my triumphant return to running, I’m rewarding myself with a single brew: a bottle of Von Trapp Vienna Style Lager. If the name sounds familiar, you’ve probably watched The Sound of Music. The family in the movie are the same that make the beer…well, at least they are the descendants of the Von Trapps from the movie.

This Vienna Lager totally hit the spot. It’s creamy and smooth and downright delicious. It’s nearly all malt when it comes to flavors. Grain and biscuit galore, with a whisper of bitterness at the end. Gone in record time. Quality beer.
