To Øl Fuck Art Let's Dance on Gooseberries

This past weekend I finally got a good run in – 6 miles. The weather was AMAZING on Saturday, which helped motivate me. Of course, I was on the verge of vomiting as I finished, but that’s my fault for pushing the pace. The weather is going to stink this week, with rain in the forecast, so I may not get out again until Thursday or Friday. I’ll need to bang out another 6 miles at that point. Next week, my goal is 8 miles. 7 weeks to go until the half marathon!

Tonight I’m enjoying a bottle of To Øl Fuck Art Let’s Dance on Gooseberries. Melissa spotted this beer while we were in Vermont a couple weekends ago. She loved the name, and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t? Now, I’m no fan of art, but I wouldn’t go far as to say “fuck it”. I am, however, a MONSTER fan of dancing on gooseberries.

Depending on what source you check, the beer is listed as a sour ale, or a saison. Taste-wise, it’s somewhere in between the two, if you ask me. It’s first and foremost sour. The beer is well made, so while it has a strong tart flavor, it’s not overbearing or wince-inducing. I’m far from an expert when it comes to sours, and describing the flavor-profile is escaping me. I can say this though, I’m going to try to finish off the bomber…something that I don’t often do with this style of beer.
