14th Star Maple Breakfast Stout

Shisa Dog Tattoo

Today I got my chest tattoo completed. Shisa dogs, done! As my artist was wrapping up, the only thing coursing through my brain was: “THANK GOD I never have to get my chest tattooed ever, ever again!” Fing miserable process, but well worth having bad-ass artwork on me forever!

If I ever needed a beer, now is the time. I usually hit a bar near my tattoo studio, but this time I decided to drive straight home. Wrong choice. Furthermore, my beer supply is once again running low.

So, I grabbed a very non-summery 14th Star Maple Breakfast Stout to drink. It’s all good though, because the beer is amazingly delicious. It’s malty through and through, and I’m surprised that I can taste significant maple flavor; as I understand it, most times maple sugar is boiled off in the brewing process, leaving little maple flavor. This beer would make an amazing breakfast beer, paired with waffles or pancakes!
