Finch’s Threadless

Finch's Threadless

Ahhh, winter in New England. I hate it more and more eery year. We’re getting nailed with 6-10 inches of horse-shit-white-stuff tonight. The temperature is going to dip into the sub-zero numbers also, meaning I’ll be shoveling in freezing-fuckness tomorrow morning. The only upside is that I probably get to work from home tomorrow. I swear on my dog’s life that someday I’m going to live on a beach. /Rant off

Tonight I’m tempering my bitterness with Finch’s Threadless, a 6% ABV American IPA. This comes on the heels of last night’s review of Finch’s Secret Stache.

First off, I’d like to give props to Finch’s for the cool label: a finch pulling on a loose thread. There is nothing remarkable about the pour – typical head, typical color. For flavors, this is a seriously hoppy beer, not for the craft beer newbie. It’s packed with floral and citrus flavors, grapefruit and tangerine dominate. If you’re a hop-head, I’d recommend you give it a try…otherwise, steer clear! For me it was on the brink of being too astringent, however it did not topple over into the unsavory category, so I drank it all up!
